John Swinney`s not talking to NO2NP

"I`m not making a disrespectful point here but ... No to the the Named Person sort of doesn`t want to have the Named Person. There`s a bit of a fundamental policy disagreement there. I`m very happy to engage with people who will accept the principled arguments that I set out to parliament last week about why we have gone down this route. I`m very happy to engage with people who will respect the democratic will of parliament because parliament has legislated for this. We shouldn`t forget that point..."

Deputy First Minister John Swinney

The democratic will of parliament is to be exercised by a one-sided `intense` consultation. Forget the sovereign will of the people. I mean, what could be more disrespectful or dictatorial?

The Supreme Court saw through this:

“The first thing that a totalitarian regime tries to do is to get at the children, to distance them from the subversive, varied influences of their families, and indoctrinate them in their rulers’ view of the world.” [Paragraph 73]
