Adverts on the back of a bus offer fosterers £590/week per child, and the National Foster Agency, founded by two social workers a few years ago, was recently sold for £130million+! Children’s care homes cost an average £4,000/week per child and the whole system costs over £2 billion/year!
The quote comes from a pdf by Forced Adoption which is worth reading during Fostering and Adoption Week.
Children are a commodity in the secret and privatised child care industry which continues to grow. So it was disturbing to see Kate Middleton promoting the foster care industry in Islington as part of Barnardo`s annual campaign to raise awareness for fostering and adopting children in the UK.
