Improving practice for those on autistic spectrum

"Thousands of people with Learning Disabilities and Autism in Scotland are being forcibly administered life- shortening drugs because of their behaviour. It was common practice throughout the UK and a violation of EU and UN legislation. England and Wales, in the wake of the Panorama expose of Winterborne View, have urgently revised the NICE guidelines to advise that antipsychotics should not be the first course of action for challenging behaviour and that other problems, including physical ones, should be addressed first. Scotland has not followed this example and this abhorrent practice continues."
