Dundee school under investigation

"POLICE are investigating an allegation of sexual abuse against a disabled child at a Scottish school ..."

"The child's mother yesterday said she first became concerned after a mysterious phone call told her to check the youngster's body for bruising. She reported the alleged incident at Kingspark School in Dundee to police in May 2013 but was informed the investigation had been dropped due to a lack of evidence."

"However, it is understood that Police Scotland's Serious Crime Division is now again considering the case as part of its review into a number of allegations. It comes as another mother of a child at the school claimed that "Dickensian" restraint techniques could lead to the serious injury, or even death, of a child."

"Beth Morrison is calling upon ministers to introduce new regulations to protect youngsters from being violently manhandled by teachers. Kingspark School has been subject to a number of allegations relating to children returning home with unexplained injuries."
